First year students learn to work with pattern and color in a variety of
mediums such as crayon etching, stamp carve and printing. They develop
painting skills while learning to create textural pointillist tempera
paintings of still-life, landscape and abstract objects. Students learn
the structure of portrait drawing as a foundation to metallic mask
design and construction.
