Mrs. Reish is instructing some wonderful and talented students in the fine arts. Students at all levels learn the
foundations of drawing, design and creative expression through a variety of sketchbook lessons.
First year students learn to work with pattern and color in a variety of mediums such as crayon etching, stamp carve
and printing. They develop painting skills while learning to create textural pointillist tempera paintings of still-life,
landscape and abstract

objects. Students learn the structure of portrait drawing as a foundation to metallic mask design and construction.
As they progress in their education and knowledge, second year students continue to develop drawing skills to include plein-air
outdoor sketching. They expand their creative experience to include Batik fabric design, mixed media painting and a variety of two
and three dimensional projects.
Some kids love and appreciate the arts so much they continue it through their third year at Shorecliffs. For those students,
the sky is the limit. They will develop more in-depth drawing skills observing the natural world around them, emphasizing
perspective, space and reflective drawing. Students work in a variety of mediums creating powerful charcoal portraits, intricately
designed watercolor wax paintings, rich silk batik paintings, vibrant tye dye projects, textural canvas paintings and mixed media
Keepsake boxes.
Take your time looking at and enjoying the students' art work and see what amazing things these kids are able to create. There
will be new pieces added all the time.
